Second trailer drops for 'Home Alone 3' set in 2025 that sees the Wet Bandits released from prison

The second trailer for a Home Alone film has been released, and fans are loving it.

Made for a supposed Home Alone 3, it follows a first trailer that received a lot of attention when it was uploaded to YouTube in December 2023.

Of course, there is a standalone sequel to the first two films called Home Alone 3, though fans seem to gravitate to the originals more, as the third instalment misses the star of the show - Macaulay Culkin.

More than thirty years after the original, the trailer sets this film up for yet another face-off between Kevin McCallister (Culkin) and the Wet Bandits, who are fresh out of prison and seeking revenge.

It picks up from the events of the second film in New York, with the help of the infamous pigeon lady, as Harold 'Harry' Lyme (Joe Pesci), and Marvin 'Marv' Merchants (Daniel Stern) are put behind bars after a toy store heist.

While the first trailer focused on the baddies' release and their plan to get back at Kevin after all these years, this second concept trailer, created by a movie fan with the help of AI and cuts from existing films, focuses on Kevin's thoughts and feelings on Christmas.

He did get left behind by his parents during the festive period, twice, and the fan-made trailer reveals that he had to go to therapy because of it, even shedding a few tears when talking about it.

The @VJ4rawr2 made video opens up with Kevin speaking to his Mum on a video call, as she asks him to come home for Christmas, explaining that they 'haven't had a family Christmas for 30 years'.

Acknowledging that it's a 'difficult time' for her son, a newspaper comes across the screen with the headline 'America's worst Mom', with a photo of her.

Kevin explains that he went through 20 years of therapy due to the events he experienced, with a scene cut together of him getting emotional, remembering how he was forgotten.

Sharing an emotional scene with his Mum where they make up, the attention switches to the Wet Bandits, as everyone's favourite clumsy criminals are back, with their iconic Dodge Ram van plastered with the words 'Oh-Kay Plumbing and Heating' parked outside Kevin's house.

It is then revealed that the pigeon lady had a daughter, who helps Kevin to set up booby traps for the criminals, with an adult twist.

He offers her the chance to help out to get back at them for 'what they did to her mum', and the pair start setting things up, though you can guess what's coming after dynamite is shown on screen.

The trailer ends with a bang (literally), as the title 'Home Alone - Kevin's Revenge' flashes across screen.

Fans took to the comments to share their excitement at the idea of a follow-up film, with one writing: "I just saw Home Alone 1/2/3 today, amazing feeling to see this!"

Another said: "This would be super great if it was for real."

A third added: "I would love to see this sequel. Please. It could really work."
