The last film, American Reunion, was released way back in 2012

Nothing sums up the golden age of comedy quite like American Pie, with constant calls for one more film about 'that one time in bandcamp'.

While it's hard to believe that 26 years have passed since Jason Biggs' breakout role as Jim Levenstein, fans are still itching for the original cast of Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Oz (Chris Klein), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and, of course, Steve Stifler (Seann William Scott) to return. And speaking to the New York Post, Biggs hasn't ruled it out.

“There’s always talks,” he said of a possible American Pie 5.

“There’s always rumblings,” he added. “I can tell you that I’d love to get back with everybody and do another one if it’s the right story.”

Biggs, who admitted that it 'would be so much fun' to revive his role as Jim, said: “I think it would be so much fun. I love playing that character.

“I love working with those guys and gals. Everybody is just — it’s family, you know? So I’d love to do it.

“And honestly, I feel like enough people ask and there’s enough fans.

“Nostalgia is big right now.”

Biggs admitted to People last year that he kept 'as much as I could' of the American Pie memorabilia.

"Most of its in storage. I have all the scripts and all that stuff," he continued.

"I have a lot of the publicity press things that went out, tie-ins and stuff, and that kind of stuff.

"But in terms of props from the set, yeah, I have my Band Camp shirt that I cannot fit into."

Away from Hollywood, however, the main character of four out of the nine films said he facing an 'obsession' with drink.

While promoting his directorial debut, Untitled Home Invasion Romance, on The View, Biggs was recently congratulated on being eight years sober.

"When did you realise it was time to make a change, and what advice would you give to people who are starting on that journey?" Sunny Hostin asked.

"It’s something I am really proud of, and it’s certainly been difficult," Biggs, who has been sober since 2017, said.

"I think for me, I just couldn’t stop thinking about it.

"For me, it was like, I’m very lucky insofar that my bottom wasn’t in the basement, at least in terms that I wasn’t arrested, I didn’t hurt — well, there’s damage, but not the kind you can read about, certainly. And it could have been worse."
