John Cena reveals sex scene where Amy Schumer said he was ‘inside her’ was fully improvised
Despite a generation of fans who solely see John Cena as a WWE superstar, the actor has now firmly made his name as one of the biggest actors in Hollywood.
A major part of that transition was a small role he took in an Amy Schumer film Trainwreck, a romcom in which the pair shared a fairly graphic sex scene.
Cena’s prior career had been filled with middling action movies, however, this small role in Trainwreck earned him his newfound reputation as a reliably fantastic comedic actor.
Despite being his first sex scene, Cena was thrown in at the deep end, with the scene being so intimate Amy Schumer said he was ‘inside her.’

Now, the WWE wrestler has revealed it was all improvised in a new video.

Trainwreck stars Schumer as a woman named Amy who is committed to being non-committal, seeing no value emotional intimacy and instead opting for a string of meaningless hook-ups and short-term flings.
One of these flings in the film is with gym-addict, Steven, who promises to ‘fill her with protein’ and engages in bizarre dirty talk.
When asked during the press run about the scene and how she kept a straight face Schumer joked: “Because he was actually inside me. Who am I to stop him.”
She later joked it was a ‘major regret’ that she didn’t ‘feel his balls’.
What has John Cena said about the scene?
Cena has spoken in the past about it, admitting that he didn’t tell his fiancée at the time about the scene.
He also stated it was ‘real embarrassing’ but added: “Amy is an angel, she made the environment so comfortable.”
In a new video for Vanity Fair, however, he has spoken about the scene in a retrospective on his career in TV and Film.
Cena spoke about how Schumer and [director of the film] Judd Apatow ‘took a chance’ on him.
Specifically addressing the sex scene he said that it was based on a real-life experience of Amy Schumer’s where she had sex with a guy who was ‘too athletic.’
He said: “We get in the room and start reading through the lines and then Judd being Judd and being as good as he is like ‘Ah, forget the script, just kind of riff.’
“Amy and I just riffed and we all know she’s so incredibly talented.”
Cena went on to call the film the ‘first performing environment outside the WWE’ where he felt comfortable.
The actor is currently on a press tour for the new season of Peacemaker as well as his final ever appearance at WWE’s Summerslam, taking place this weekend, August 2nd and August 3rd.
The wrestling star announced earlier this year that he would be doing one more year of wrestling before retiring for good and is halfway through that retirement run.
