Your next movie night just got a whole lot bigger, as one of 2025’s most successful (and action-packed) blockbusters is available to buy and rent digitally from the comfort of your lounge room right bloody now.
Yep, that’s right. Jurassic World Rebirth might still be in cinemas, but it’s now express released from the cinemas for you to buy or rent now, so you can experience the epic adventure right at home.
With an all-star cast led by Scarlett Johansson (whose literal childhood dream was to be a part of this franchise), everyone’s current crush Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, this movie is a non-stop thrill ride that pays homage to the franchise we all know and love but with exciting, new twists. On top of that, with the widest range of dinosaurs shown so far for a film in the franchise, it’s the biggest Jurassic film yet.
Get this: Humans have grown weary of the concept of dinosaurs being brought back to life, so now they’ve all but gone extinct except for regions around the equator where the conditions are just right for them to thrive. It’s a bunch of islands completely ruled by dinosaurs.
Scarlett plays Zora, a covert operation expert, rallies up her team leader Duncan (Mahershala Ali), and gets help from palaeontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) to head to these islands to extract samples from the prehistoric beasts that might be able to treat heart disease. But, along the way, they rescue a shipwrecked family before landing on the island — needless to say, the threats are near endless.
And there’s so much goodness in here that fans of the franchise will absolutely froth. It’s time to let the nostalgia wash over you – it’s literally built into the script. David Koepp, who wrote Jurassic World Rebirth, also wrote the screenplay for the original Jurassic Park. Who better to trust to make sure that classic feeling of awe and excitement is brought into 2025?
On top of that, there’s a – no spoilers – encounter with a T-Rex and a river raft that’ll really get your heart pumping. This sequence was supposed to be in the original film, over 30 years ago, but wasn’t included in the final cut. Now, we’re finally seeing this mega-exhilarating scene brought to life.
With enough dinosaur chases to have your heart rate through the roof, there’s also plenty of laughs (and even a teeny bit of a love story) to help make for the perfect movie night — for everyone. But, Jurassic World Rebirth is packed full of nostalgia. Whether it’s that iconic score (which Jonathan Bailey contributes to via playing the clarinet), or even just scenes that pay homage to the franchise we all know and love (just wait ‘til you watch the team stumble across the herd of Titanosaurus), this is a movie that takes you back to another place and gives you all the escapism you could want from a movie night.
And while it’s still out in cinemas, watching Jurassic World Rebirth in the comfort of your own home can make everything feel bigger. All your best adventures start at home, so kick off your next one by buying or renting Jurassic World Rebirth right now through all your fave digital retailers, like Prime Video, Apple TV, Fetch, Foxtel, Google TV and YouTube.
