People are finally getting to watch The Odyssey but are coming away from one moment more shocked than a Trojan guard seeing soldiers jumping out of a big horse.
Christopher Nolan's later blockbuster The Odyssey earned rave reviews from critics who reviewed the film and is now being loved by the public following its release on Friday, July 17, with a certified fresh rating of 95 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Those lucky enough to have already watched the movie - with the majority of showings on the few IMAX 70mm screens sold out - are being left shocked by a sound made during one particular scene.
US television host Kyle Brandt posted on X after watching the movie: "There is a SOUND in The Odyssey that I still haven’t recovered from. I can’t shake it.

"Never heard anything like it."

The sound that left people shaken during The Odyssey
It turns out Brandt wasn't the only one left haunted by the sound, as several people replied to his social media post all guessing he was referring to the 'Cyclops scream.'
The Cyclops is a giant mythical beast with one eye from Greek mythology and just one of the challenges Matt Damon's Odysseus has to face on his epic journey back home from the Trojan Wars.
Brief sightings of the Cyclops in the film's trailers were hair-raising enough, and now it literally sounds like he's a terrifying prospect.
"It was the Cyclops scream and I know that's what it is cause I'm still thinking about it," one X user replied to Brandt.
Another added: "Hearing that Cyclops scream in IMAX, I don't think I can ever go near a sheep or a cave for a while."
While another lover of the movie added: "The Cyclops scene. Was incredible.
That sound was scary, eerie, amazing. Shook the theatre. Went into my core.
"Just pure cinema. Nolan is a theatrical genius."

Written by Homer, The Odyssey is one of human history's oldest surviving stories and its epic scale is something Nolan aimed to capture by filming it in IMAX 70mm, which has a much larger aspect ratio.
But it isn't just the larger-than-life shots that have added to the film's grandeur, but it's its sound design as well.
Speaking on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, staring man Damon told cinema-goers to be ready for a very loud movie.
"It is big, it is loud, it's a really loud movie," Poehler said, with Damon nodding in agreement and saying: "Yeah."
"IMAX is intense, Poehler added. "It's incredible."
Damon then said: "The whole experience was like that, it was awesome."
Swedish composer and musician Ludwig Göransson has created the score for the film, his third time working with Nolan after Oppenheimer and Tenet.
Göransson also created the iconic music in Sinners and is a long-time collaborator with its director Ryan Coogler, having worked with him on five projects.
