Well, after the excitement of new pictures and name changes, it seems Miley Cyrus’ new era is finally here.
Fans were ‘freaking out’ on Sunday (30 August) when she dropped her surname online, updating her website from mileycyrus.com to mileyofficial.com.
And then to really solidify things, this update was soon reflected on social media, as the likes of her Instagram handle was switched to simply ‘miley’.
So, yeah, to quote her 2007 debut single ‘See You Again’ it seems that after all this time: “Oh, she’s just being Miley.”

To round things off, she’s made a major announcement today that confirms exactly what all of us fans were expecting: she’s got a new album coming out later this month with performances to follow at one of her ‘favourite places’ for experiencing music.

Miley will release her tenth studio album, BASS PERSUADES, on 18 September as she shared an iconic video of her rocking out on a guitar to promote her live performance at the Hollywood Bowl.
“Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong,” she wrote, announcing the new era.
“Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me.
“Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album. Miley.”
So, while it’s not the self-titled album we may have been expecting, it marks an exciting era for the Disney Legend – nearly 20 years on since her first single as an artist.
“I thought it was going to be called miley but that's ok girl,” one fan put - relatable.
And although some are already calling for a ‘world tour now’, Miley will be kicking things off with a live performance of BASS PERSUADES at the iconic Los Angeles venue on 16 and 18 October.
“It’s been a while,” the 33-year-old said.
“The Hollywood Bowl is my favourite place to experience music and see my favourite artists. I’ve sat in those seats many times, but I’ve never taken the stage.
“LA is my heart and I’m bringing it home. See you there. [love-heart emoji] Miley.”
And as Hannah Montana fans rightly point out: “She’s Always find your way back home!!!”
Fans are already telling her that ‘Europe is your home too’ as they hope for a major world tour to mark this new ‘miley’ era.
It’s not yet confirmed if Miley will drop a new single before the album release but this rebrand seems like an exciting time for the icon, with over two decades in the industry now.
