Alternate history TV dramas have made a bit of a comeback recently: we bit our nails through Amazon Prime’s Man In The High Castle and SS-GB, and obsessed over Hulu’s 11.22.63, HBO’s Watchmen and Netflix’s 1983.
Apple TV+ made a strong entrance in 2019 with the original series For All Mankind, tracing what would happen if the Soviets landed on the moon first, and the space race continued. Even Christopher Nolan agrees it is a top watch.
All the drama has been building up to Season 3, with eyes firmly on Mars, as teased in the Season 2 finale.

Will the reds take control of the red planet? Can NASA overcome the planet’s weather and terrain to win the day? The series is back, this time set two decades after the Moon landing.
The first hints for keen fans came on 16th May 2022, when Apple TV teased us with two minutes of tantalising clues in the Season 3 trailer.
Apple TV will treat us to ten episodes in the new season, with the first set to air on streaming service Apple TV+ on 10th June 2022, and called ‘Polaris’.
The following episodes are likely to be released weekly, so we should expect the final episode on 12th August 2022.
The dramatic grand finale of last season means we won’t see two of the stars of the series re-appear. Now the Moon has been saved from nuclear destruction, there’ll be no Gordo (Micheal Dorman) or Tracy Stevens (Sarah Jones) in the latest update.

But we will see the older versions of the main cast, and the return of the younger generation. We’ll also see a new series regular in the charismatic Dev Ayesa, played by Edi Gathegi, who you might remember as Laurent in Twilight.
