The sixth instalment of Grand Theft Auto will apparently feature a female protagonist.
Reliable industry insider Tom Henderson has suggested that the in-development sequel will include a female and male protagonist.
It's not clear how connected to the world of Rockstar Tom is, but he's got a solid track record when it comes to promoting rumours - especially when it comes to Battlefield and Call of Duty franchises.

Taking to Twitter, Henderson wrote: "For the first time ever in a GTA title, GTA 6 will have a playable female and male protagonist. #GTA6 #GTAVI."
Fans have mixed feelings about the potential move, with one writing: "Interesting. Tbh if true it's actually nice to play as a female badass in GTA."
Other people were quick to point out that GTA 1 had female protagonists. One said: "So let's just forget the four female protagonists from GTA 1, huh."
Another added: "Technically GTA 1 had female protagonists... there wasn't much story, sure, but you can't say 'for the first time ever'."
Another fan, who is fond of the idea, wrote: "I sure hope so we get to play a female protagonist that will change the whole atmosphere.

"The real question is will it be for the best or the worst? Personally I think it will be for the best, but I guess only time will tell."
A female fan added: "Overall the choice of choosing a male or female doesn't bother me, but it is nice to play the gender that I am, as I find it more immersive."
LADbible has approached Rockstar to address the rumours.
