So how does it differ from the original Nintendo Switch and is it worth the cash?
Nintendo Switch 2 top features
- Larger screen: It boasts a 7.9inch screen with 1080p resolution so has twice as many pixels as the original Switch, to see even more action when using it as a handheld device. It also provides 4K resolution when used on a TV screen
- Faster refresh rate: At 60fps, you won't miss a second of the action and glitches are a thing of the past, with even the most beautiful, detailed games
- Smooth mouse controls: New for the Switch 2, there are smooth mouse controls on the side of the side of each Joy-Con 2 controller. You can turn surfaces like a table or your lap into a mouse pad
- Improved storage: The Switch 2 comes with a whopping 256GB of internal storage, compared to the 32GB on the Switch
- New dock: The new and improved dock features an ethernet port, making it more reliable than using Wi-Fi, and it also has a USB-C port on the top which means you can charge it while on table top mode

There are plenty of bundles to be found which include the must-have games for 2025 too, which can save you even more money when compared to buying the console and game separately.
Happy customers have also been praising the upgrades.
"I brought this to replace my previous generation Nintendo Switch and I am so glad that I did! The slightly bigger screen is excellent especially when you are on the go like I am. The battery life in hand held mode is good considering the size of the screen," wrote one.
"For me this is a really good upgrade in terms of speed, performance and quality. Including Mario Kart World made sense as the Mario Kart games tend to last for years especially with friends locally or online," praised another.
One fan called it 'Nintendo's finest', explaining: "Perfect gaming system for family and kids. No stress with games or finding kid friendly games. That's what makes this system stand out. And you can take it anywhere with no stress."
