First trailer for GTA VI confirms we won't get to play the long-awaited game until 2025

First trailer for GTA VI confirms we won't get to play the long-awaited game until 2025

Don't hold your breath, we've still got a lot of waiting to do.

It's here! It's finally here. After what has seemed like an eternity, Rockstar has dropped the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6.

However, there was a small negative that was related to the teaser's release.

The final scene of the video confirmed the long-awaited game won't be ready to play until 2025.

There hasn't been any indication of when in the year we could expect it, but it has dashed all hopes of a release next year.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnic said the 2025 fiscal year, which lands between April 2024 to March 2025, would have a 'significant inflection point...which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance'.

So, at least it should be in the first quarter of 2025 and not the last; because that would be cruel to make us wait nearly two years for the game.

But it seems that fans are just happy to finally be witnessing the trailer.

One said: "One thing that stood out to me almost immediately is the amount of LIFE in these clips. The city looks so crowded and extremely lifelike! Cant wait."

Another added: "I’m legit crying. I have been dreaming of this moment. This game is about to be a cultural phenomenon like the world has never seen."

A third wrote: "A moment of silence for all the souls we lost who never got to see this day."

While the trailer didn't show any gameplay, the graphics are incredible and genuinely jaw-dropping.

It gave us an amazing look at Vice City in the modern age and it even comes complete with a social media-type platform similar to Instagram.

There are loads of bizarre and whacky characters that you'll know doubt get to interact with during the game.

From the swamp to the beach, it looks like there will be a lot to explore.

The trailer for the game managed to rack up more than two million likes on YouTube in just 30 minutes.

It was meant to be released on December 5 at 9am EST, however it leaked on social media the night before.

Platforms did their best to take down the copies, however Rockstar eventually dropped the official version on YouTube.

While it probably wasn't the moment they were hoping for, fans are very excited they got to witness it with their own eyes.

We now just need to sit tight until 2025.
