Angry people are calling for GTA VI to be banned after seeing the trailer

Angry people are calling for GTA VI to be banned after seeing the trailer

They say it's not safe for children and will 'permanently rot the personalities, values, and ambitions of young men'.

Fans around the world have been celebrating following the release of the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.

It's been a decade since GTA V dropped, we've finally been given a look at the long-awaited game and it looks like it will be well worth the wait.

The graphics appear to be incredible; the characters are whacky, wild and weird; and there's no doubt it will be one of the best games ever created.

However, not long after the trailer for the sixth instalment of the franchise landed on social media, there was a hashtag going viral calling for the game to be banned.

There have been thousands of posts about #BanGTA6 and it seems like there are some very unhappy people out there.

Many of the angry posts on X are worried about kids seeing the trailer and eventually the game.

One said: "This content is NOT safe for children and should be banned!!"

Another added: "Video games are for children, it is disgusting and disappointing seeing what kind of things Rocjstar are showing to our kids."

A third wrote: "GTA 6 is only one piece of the mass social engineering project to permanently rot the personalities, values, and ambitions of young men. The only ones who defend this new form of simulated softcore porn, OnlyFans, PornHub, and more are already rotted and in denial."

Pretty rude to think that video games are only made for children.

But it's also incredibly misguided considering Grand Theft Auto has never been made for children.

GTA V was rated M for Mature, meaning it was intended for people over the age of 17 in the US and over 18 for the rest of the world.

There's even been an X Community Note attached to several of these posts that said: "GTA is a franchise with high age rating, usually M, so it isn't a game focused to kids and shouldn't be banned for this. For example GTA V, the last game of the franchise has a rating of M."

However, others were concerned the game would affect peoples' mental health, but didn't really state why.

This isn't anything new for the franchise and it has constantly been attacked in the past for being too violent.

There will no doubt be more moral panic when the game gets released in 2025 and some of the details of the missions are unveiled.
