When it comes to GTA 6, there have been an awful lot of theories and 'leaks' floating around the internet over the last couple of years.
It's no secret that the publisher behind the anticipated title, Rockstar Games, takes the secrecy of its content very seriously, so there's been no way of knowing what's real and what isn't... until now.
Rockstar has recently been embroiled in a scandal, after more than 30 employees claimed they were unfairly fired for attempting to unionise, but the publisher claims that's not what happened at all.
Instead, Rockstar has claimed the staff were let go for leaking information about GTA 6 on an external channel, which is alleged to have included a gaming journalist and a rival developer.

However, in arguing their case, the company appears to have confirmed the accuracy of several major leaks that really shape the landscape of the game.

According to Complex, one of the now-confirmed leaks is the ability to play both main characters at once, known as the dual protagonist companion mode, which will see players operating as both Lucia and Jason.
Another major 'confirmed leak', which most fans assumed to be true anyway, is that Vice City is the biggest city in the game. Most leaks have suggested the map for GTA 6 is significantly bigger than any previous maps in the franchise, with multiple different regions, much like in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Elsewhere, it appears nailed on that the game will include a 6-star wanted level, featuring military forces, possibly the FBI, and advanced tactics, such as riot shields, dynamic roadblocks and K-9 units.
The game is also expected to include more than 700 enterable shops and buildings, which is a huge development in scale compared to GTA 5, which includes 100 enterable buildings.

Complex reports that one of the slightly more X-rated leaks is that the newest instalment is set to feature female and male strippers, which is believed to be a bid to appease the millions of female players, many of whom have no interest in visiting the female strip clubs that already exist in the franchise.
And, last but not least, another 'confirmed leak' says GTA 6 will bring back a dynamic weight and fitness system, which will allow Jason and Lucia to gain or lose muscle and fat through their lifestyle, such as how often they go to the gym or get involved in combat. Interestingly, their fitness will impact their stats as well as how they look and act in gameplay.
Rockstar probably isn't too happy about having to inadvertently confirm the leaks in a bid to try and clear its name, but with fans hanging on every shred of information about the eagerly anticipated release, the excitement continues to build.
