Since joining Gogglebox in 2018, Marcus Luther has become a fan favourite thanks to his witty banter.

Marcus appears on the show with his partner Mica Ven, and the loved-up couple share son Yash.

Mica has another two daughters, Sachelle and Shuggy, and Marcus has son Shiloh Defreitas from another relationship.

But unbeknownst to many, Shiloh, 23, is famous in his own right. Not only that, but Shiloh actually came close to appearing on Gogglebox with his dad, but decided it ‘wasn’t for him’.

Shiloh is a boxer known as Sugar Shy and the young athlete has amassed more than 11,000 Instagram followers.

The fighter occasionally shares videos of himself training with dad Marcus, who, when he’s not making the nation giggle on Gogglebox, is a boxing coach and gym owner.

Back in 2009, Marcus founded Surrey’s TM Boxing Gym in the hopes of helping local disadvantaged youth.

The ‘about us’ section on TM Boxing Gym’s site explains: “The main focus of the gym was to work with disadvantaged youth from the local community. We then went on to running sessions for the general public in the evenings as interest quickly grew.

“TM Boxing then started offering morning sessions to stay at home mums and people with weight and confidence issues. We now have over 200 keep fit members, 80 youth boxers and numerous schools that educate disadvantaged youth who use our services daily.”

Marcus often steps into the ring with Shiloh to help his son train, and back in December, the father-son-duo opened up about their working relationship to the BBC

Marcus told the outlet “I'm known for Gogglebox but now people will see that I'm not just about sitting on the sofa. I'm about boxing and have been for years.”

It was during this interview that Shiloh revealed he’d given Gogglebox a go, but decided the show wasn’t for him.

He explained: “I tried going on the show once - it didn't work out."

Jumping in, Marcus said that his son is ‘too aggressive’ for the show.

He said: "Gogglebox is not for everyone. Not everyone can 'Goggle'. He's too aggressive. Me and him just argued so I told him to sling his hook.

"The producers were trying to help him out but then he'd go off on one again. No Gogglebox for him, he's a fighter."

Shiloh will enter the ring at London’s O2 arena on 21 May, where he's an undercard at Joshua Buatsi and Craig Richards’ fight.
