One of Thomas Tuchel's trusted full-backs for England at the 2026 World Cup, Djed Spence, isn't the only family member doing bits on the big stage.
Domestically, the 25-year-old's senior career has taken him from Middlesborough to Nottingham Forest, to Rennes, Leeds United, Genoa, and finally back to Tottenham Hotspur, who sent him out on loan between 2022 and 2024 after snapping up his services for a tidy £20 million.
Spurs' manager at the time, Antonio Conte, was publicly dismissive of Djed joining the London club, but in the last couple of years he's managed to secure a regular spot in the team and earn England call-ups.
The defender faces the mighty proposition of Norway's Erling Haaland hunting the ball down and knocking his nation out of the tournament this weekend.

But where have we seen his famous sister Karla-Simone Spence before?

Born to a Jamaican father and Kenyan mother in 1996 (four years prior to her brother's arrival), Karla-Simone is an actress and voiceover artist.
Her first credit was in the 2018 independent film Nine Nights - co-starring Doctor Who's Jo Martin and Gangs of London's T'Nia Miller - before making notable appearances in musical crime thriller Blue Story (as Leah) and BBC drama Gold Digger (Cali Okello) a year later.
Blue Story brought Karla-Simone to the attention of the critics too, resulting in nominations for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Newcomer at the 2020 National Film Awards UK.
In 2021, she stepped up to portray the titular character in ITV's adaptation of the Sara Collins novel The Confessions of Frannie Langton.
Fastforward to 2023 and the 29-year-old was cast as Haydée opposite Sam Claflin's Edmond Dantès in a series based on Alexandre Dumas' famous The Count of Monte Cristo.

Interestingly, two of Djed's England teammates at the World Cup also have well-known siblings.
Central midfielders Elliot Anderson and Kobbie Mainoo (who is yet to be given a single second of matchplay by the manager this World Cup) are brothers to stars outside of football.
A boxer by nature, Will Anderson is more recognisable for his stint on reality dating show Love Island, and even ended up getting engaged to his villa romance Uma Jammeh once the cameras stopped filming.
The Andersons tragically lost their mum Helen earlier this year following a short illness.
Reacting to her death on social media, Will wrote: "Words can't describe this feeling. You didn’t deserve this. All I ever wanted was to make you proud. You were my biggest supporter and my strongest motivation.
"You gave everything for our family and we were just ready to return the favour. You fought the toughest fight of them all and not once did it show, bowing out with grace surrounded by your boys.
"You have shown me everything I know. Thank you for everything you have done for this family, none of us would have got this far without you. Keep watching me Mum I have more to show you. Everything is for you. You will live with me forever Mum, I love you."
