A very bizarre TV moment has been circulating on social media, leaving viewers baffled and saying British TV has ‘peaked’.

The moment in question comes from a recent episode of the BBC show I Can See Your Voice, but if you’re watching it out of context and know nothing about the game show, like many online apparently, it can seem very strange indeed. Take a look below:

Sharing the video on Twitter, one viewer wrote: “I watched this clip contextless and [so] should you. So many questions.

"No idea what’s going on. Is this a real show? British TV has peaked if so.”

For a little bit of context, the BBC game show involves a group of six 'mystery singers' identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and a group of two contestants who must eliminate the bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel.

In the video, the celebrity-packed judging panel - including the likes of Paddy McGuinness, Amanda Holden, Jimmy Carr and Alison Hammond - look extremely anxious as Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet stars singing the band’s hit song ‘Gold’.

They cross their fingers as one of the mystery singers next to him gets ready to sing along.

Viewers have been left confused after watching a clip from I Can See Your Voice without any context.

But the panel and crowd soon break into cheers and screams as he proves he can sing just as well as Hadley, as he takes over the lyrics.

It turns out that the talented singer is Charlie Marshall, who has performed in various theatre productions of Cinderella and Puss in Boots since he was 17-years-old.

The judges seen more than impressed with Marshall's talent, with Paddy McGinness shouting: “Thank God,” Alison Hammond screaming: “Yes,” and Amanda Holden shouting that she is 'so Happy'.

And at the end of it all, the contestants guessing win an amazing £10,000.

It’s very strange but hilarious viewing and commenting on the post, others agreed.

“Why are all the celebrities there? Jimmy Carr doesn’t know what to do at any point in this,” said one.

“Paddy celebrating like he’s just won a tiebreak in between belting out ‘Gold’ is my favourite bit,” said another.

And someone else asked: “Why are the couple winning £10k? What's with that off-sounding piano bit at 00:20? Why is Amanda Holden so happy?

"Why does Tony Hadley out sing that guy? What is Alan Carr for? Why is everyone so over the top? What the hell is going on?”

The celebrities were overjoyed by the singer's talents.

But someone who has seen the show before helped those who were a little confused.

“I love this show, it’s hilarious- panel guessing if ppl are good or bad singers, it’s [bat sh*t] but doesn’t take itself seriously,” they said.

To which another user replied: “Haha. It’s amazing how much more sense it makes with that tiny bit of context.”
