Inbetweeners fans are divided over whether a deleted scene should have been included in the series or not.

Inbetweeners fans are divided over whether a deleted scene should have been included in the series or not.

We may be about to enter another year, but The Inbetweeners will never get old:

If you're dreading 2023, how about being transported back to 2008 when all you had to worry about was who fancied who at school, what you were having for dinner and picking out briefcase w****rs from the crowd.

However, if you do choose to snuggle down and stick The Inbetweeners on this New Year's Eve, you may miss out on catching a scene from Neil's birthday party which was deleted from the series.

Fans have flocked to social media divided over whether or not the scene should have been included.

The scene is oh too relatable to many of us - the formal birthday celebrations where you have to stand around, having riskily merged your friends, family and other adults, waiting for one of your friends to make an inappropriate joke.

Neil's dad performed a toast in the deleted scene.

Luckily for Neil (Blake Harrison), Jay (James Buckley) was on his best behaviour and not much slipped through his often dirty mouth.

Neil got away a lot luckier than I did on my 18th, his dad not going too soppy or rogue - simply toasting Neil's newfound ability to 'officially buy a drink in the pub, watch an 18 certificate film [...] and vote in a general election'.

Neil got off even more lightly with the only joke made by his friends coming from Will (Simon Bird) about how he shouldn't be allowed to vote in the elections - fair enough considering Neil thought Swansea was an animal and once questioned how much lego you could manage to stick up your bum.

The jab - while fairly tame - scores Will a hand hold from the girl next to him, which is pretty monumental given his previous history with the opposite sex.

Neil's 18th birthday was pretty tame in comparison to some of his previous antics.

The scene is pretty PG for The Inbetweeners but some viewers have still found it hilarious.

One said: "He can watch an 18 certificate film," while another simply wrote: "Jays face."

A third commented: "His middle name."

"Why is the best parts deleted," a final said.

However, others aren't convinced by the scene - it certainly lacking a lot of swearing, inappropriate and other mischievous activity the group normally engage in.

"Glad it was deleted," one wrote, as another added: "Thank god these scenes were deleted."
