Ever wondered what kind of outlook you need in order to make it to the top of the business world? Well, wonder no more.

Brad Lea is a successful businessman and philanthropist, best known as the founder and CEO of LightSpeed VT, a global leader in web-based training and communication platforms.

Supposedly dedicated to helping other people succeed in life, Brad is a regular guest on the self-help and podcast circuit where he offers his advice on how to help others achieve their goals.

During a recent appearance on the Millionaire Mindset podcast, Lea posed a simple question to the two hosts -"If I gave you both a million in cash right now, how would you feel? Would you be pumped up, excited? Would anybody be able to get you in a bad mood for a while?"

After the hosts answered in the affirmative he then upped the stakes, asking them if instead of one million dollars he offered them ten million instead - but with the caveat that if they took the money, they wouldn't be able to wake up the next day.

The hosts promptly refused the revised offer.

"Ok, so what you're saying is that just waking up tomorrow is worth more than ten million dollars?

"If that's the case, why aren't you feeling that way every damn time you wake up?" he said, flipping the script on its head and leaving both of the hosts speechless.

Brad went on to explain that the problems we face when we wake up each day pale in comparison to the fact that we actually get to wake up each day, and that the cumulative knowledge and experience we gain through trying and failing will eventually propel us to succeed.

But whilst the hosts were impressed by Brad's words of wisdom, not everyone was convinced by his easy analogies.

"It's easy for a wealthy person to have this perspective," one commenter said.

"And it's being used in extremes..death or generational wealth...and there are many people who would take the money and set their family's up at the cost of their life"

Others pointed out the flaws in his logic: "I love analogies, but this one off... he's not really giving you/you don't really have 10mill if you never got to spend it.

"Now ask ppl the same question and tell them they got 5 years with that bread, bet you a whole buncha ppl change they minds and take the bread..."

"I appreciate the sentiment: money is worthless if you're not alive to spend it," another said.

"This is completely lost on wealthy people because they literally will spend $10M to make sure their employees don't get $15 minimum wage, pension, or unionize w/o missing the $10M at all."
