Jack Black cracks the Hot 100 chart for the first time in his solo career for Super Mario Bros. song

He sings the track 'Peaches' as Bowser in the film and it has debuted at number 83 on Billboard's 100.

Jack Black has slid into Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time in his career with his song ‘Peaches’.

The glorious anthem from The Super Mario Bros. Movie debuted at number 83 in the top 100.

In the new Super Mario Bros. flick, the Shallow Hal actor voices Bowser, the King of the Koopas who rules the Dark Lands.

He wants to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom by marrying Princess Peach, who is voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy.

So, it’s only fitting that Black would compose a sweet riff about his unrequited love for Peach while donning a shimmery green suit and a Koopa dragon evil lair mullet.

He sings: "Peach, you’re so cool. And with my star we’re gonna rule. Peach, understand, I’m gonna love you ’til the very end.

"Princess Peach, at the end of the line, I’ll make you mine."

If you haven’t had a chance to catch the music video, here it is below.

I mean, Jack Black serenading us as he pirouettes across a sound stage...what more do you want in life?

Many praised the playful yet heartfelt ballad, as one person wrote: “The thing about Jack Black is that he writes songs that are silly and fun and then sings them like he’s so deep in an emotional hole that he’ll never see the sun again and he has a voice that could define a generation.”

Another said: “That was a masterpiece. He rocks too hard because he’s not a mortal man.”

While a third marveled: “You really have to appreciate that Jack Black leaves a little in the tank so every new generation can experience the balls-out rock performances only he can deliver. Lots of hard rockers have nothing left to give after a decade or so. Not our Mr Black.”

Honestly, just give him the Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’ already!

Well, we might actually get to see that happen next year.

The ultimate Bowser power ballad will be eligible to submit for best original song consideration at the Oscars, Variety has confirmed with Universal Pictures.

Which is just swell news, considering the song is the brainchild of Black and the film’s directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic.
