The Jackass cast have dedicated their new movie to the late Ryan Dunn, saying they think he’d be ‘stoked’ by the end result. Hear what they had to say below:

Dunn was just 34 when he was involved in a fatal car accident in 2011, having crashed his Porsche 911 GT3 while driving in the early hours of the morning.

He and his passenger – 30-year-old Zachary Hartwell, a production assistant on the second Jackass movie – were both killed.

The Chester County coroner listed blunt force trauma and heat as the cause of death for both Dunn and Hartwell, with the car veering off the road after they had left a pub in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

More than 10 years on, the original cast are now releasing their first movie without Dunn, who featured in the three previous films and original TV series.

But they say Jackass Forever is not without their friend’s influence, revealing to LADbible that the film is dedicated to him and that they hope he’ll be ‘looking down’ enjoying it.

Asked if there’s anything they do to pay tribute to Dunn, Jason ‘Wee-Man’ Acuña told us: “We dedicate the whole movie to him. Every time we'd be like, ‘You know, this is something Ryan would be stoked on or something we did’.

“And Steve-O came in too hot saying that, in this movie, he would put anything up his butt, because one of Ryan's big things was the car up his butt. And he wanted to dedicate that to Ryan.

"Steve-O was too excited about it, and it never worked out as a bit, so it never happened.

“But this whole movie we know Ryan would be stoked on. We put something out that we know Ryan's looking down [on], going, ‘Hell yeah, boys. You guys nailed it.’”

The cast also remembered how fun it had been to work with Dunn in the Jackass shows and earlier movies, saying he had ‘no ego’ and was always ‘kind’ to others.

Chris Pontius said: “Filming with Ryan was so fun - he was up for anything, and just into taking it for the team. No ego like, at all.

“He was just the greatest, I know that he'd be stoked that we're making this for sure."

Ehren ‘Danger Ehren’ McGhehey also said the crew honours him ‘on the daily’, adding: “Especially when we get together and film, think about how he was as a person and his mannerisms, and how kind he was to others around us.

“And you know, just try to remember that and be thankful to be alive still. And that just helps us get through things - me, anyways.”

Dave England agreed: “Yeah, pretty much same for me. Just think about him all the time and just wish he was here with us doing it.

“I hope that whatever happens after this life, he's watching us going, ‘What a bunch of douchebags!'”

Jackass Forever is out in cinemas on Friday 4 February.
