Jaden Smith Slammed For 'Cringe' Criticism Of People His Own Age

"Can we talk about the political and economic state of the world right now?"

Jaden Smith is being roasted by the online community over his ‘cringe’ criticism of people his own age.

The 23-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith sat down with radio host Big Boy to discuss what it was like being raised by famous parents.

And it seems part of this lifestyle involved hanging around with more adults than people his own age.

“I am very happy that I spent my childhood with more adults than I did with kids my age,” he explained.

Jaden Smith criticised people his own age in a recent interview.

“Because I was picking up more things from adults than I were from kids my own age.”

Jaden then does an impression mocking kids his age, adding: “I’m just like, dude, like oh my god, like can we talk about the political and economic state of the world right now?

“Can we talk about what's going on with the environment? Can we talk about other things?

“Don't worry, I like to turn off, I like to flex, I like to play songs loud and jump in the crowd in Atlanta. But, you know, I'm always looking for that next thing. I’m not satisfied at just like a party.”

This segment was shared on Reddit where it’s received a fair bit of flak in the comments section.

“Talking politics with Jaden Smith must be a nightmare,” wrote one, to which another said: “He def knows THE STRUGGLE.”

A second commented: “If you go back and read his Tweets over the years, he comes across as trying hard to present himself as a great intellectual, but he's the stereotypical advantaged kid who's had a lot of attention with none of the actual background or education.”

A third chimed in: “This kid understands the real world like Kim Kardashian understands working hard," with a fourth simply writing, "Cringe-tastic."

Jaden also spoke about Will and Jada’s parenting style, describing how they would tell him he could achieve anything if he wanted… and we mean anything

“My parents always told me that I could fly,” he told Big Boy. “My parents always told me that I could, you know, dig a hole to the next side of the earth.”

The rapper continued: “I would always ask them if I could do things, they would always say yes.”

One thing they didn’t discuss is the controversy surrounding his dad after he slapped Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards a few weeks ago.

Last week, the Academy Board of Governors banned the King Richard star from attending the Oscars for ten years over the incident, which unfolded after Chris made a joke at Jada’s expense.
