Joe ‘The Body Coach’ Wicks is a fitness coach who captured the nation’s attention during the Covid lockdowns when his “PE With Joe” livestreams kept many of us active. With a luscious head of hair and a strong rig on him the 36 year old has become one of the most influential figures in Britain when it comes to health and nutrition.
‘The Body Coach’ was awarded an MBE for services to fitness and charity in 2020 and admiration for Wicks has recently grown to new heights after a BBC documentary, Joe Wicks: Facing My Childhood, outlined the difficulties he faced growing up with a heroin-addicted father and a mother with severe OCD.
Wicks began his career as a teaching assistant before deciding to become a personal trainer in his mid 20s.
In 2014 he began posting fitness and nutrition videos on Instagram and, in the same year, set up a YouTube channel called ‘The Body Coach TV’. His first YouTube video amassed over six million views and this channel has now reached 2.8 million subscribers.
