John Wick 4 will run for nearly three hours and is the longest in the film's franchise

John Wick: Chapter 4 will run for almost three hours, officially making it the longest film in the franchise.

Collider reported that the highly-anticipated neo-noir action flick would run for two hours and 46 minutes with credits.

Director Chad Stahelski told the outlet back in November that the fourth chapter would be the longest.

The first instalment ran for 101 minutes, while the two sequels were 122 minutes and 131 minutes long respectively.

Stahelski added that while he understands the frustration with lengthy movies, he said it would be well worth it.

Stahelski told Collider: “We wrote a longer movie. We wrote a bigger movie. We wrote a longer script. We wrote at least a third more scenes than the last one.

“We expect it to be more. We've always expected it to be more.

"And I think the test, or at least what we're judging ourselves by, is that worth it with how we executed what we want it to be more or not? And I think the answer's yes.”

After the Super Bowl had concluded, Lionsgate released the latest teaser while announcing that ‘Wick Week’ - where the studio has new exclusives released everyday - is finally upon us.

"Game over?" Lionsgate tweeted. "Not really. Wick Week starts now."

Fans have been waiting quite some time for the next instalment following the release of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum back in 2019.

While the finer details about the plot have been kept under wraps, producers have teased: “With the price on his head ever increasing, legendary hit man John Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Japan to Berlin".

Offfft, this sounds epic.

Fans will be pleased to know that Keanu Reeves will be reprising the titular role and Ian McShane is returning as Winston, and Lance Reddick as Charon.

They will also be joined by Bill Skarsgård, who plays The Marquis de Gramont, a member of the High Table whose position is challenged by John Wick, Shamier Anderson as The Tracker, Laurence Fishburne as The Bowery King, and Clancy Brown as The Harbinger.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to be released March 23.
