Joaquin Phoenix spotted filming Joker sequel

Joaquin Phoenix spotted filming Joker sequel

A fan filmed Joaquin Phoenix filming Joker: Folie à Deux in Downtown LA.

There's a killer clown on the loose in Downtown LA and a member of the public was able to capture him running through the streets.

Before you contact the LAPD, the killer clown was Joaquin Phoenix filming the hotly anticipated sequel to The Joker.

The upcoming film, Joker: Folie à Deux, won't hit the big screen for another two years but production is underway as we speak and as you can see.

A fan filmed as the 48-year-old star stumbled and jogged in between cars stuck in a traffic jam and almost intentionally ran into an open car door.

Two cameras men were seen running behind the Academy Award winner as the star was chased on foot by guys also wearing Joker clothes.

Footage from the set was shared online.

In the scene, which will obviously make a lot more sense when the movie comes out, shows Joaquin as Arthur Fleck in a business suit, without the clown makeup.

One of the mischievous fellows running after him is dressed in the Joker outfit from the 2019 movie.

Director Todd Phillips can also be seen walking through he scene . The cast and crew didn’t seem too bothered about the number of people watching the action unfold on set.

Unfortunately for all the Little Monsters out there, Lady Gaga was nowhere to be seen as Harley Quinn.

Lady Gaga released a picture of Harley Quinn and The Joker in the upcoming sequel.

Although, last month the 'Bloody Mary' hit-maker, 38, released a first look image of both her and Phoenix together in character. It shows Joaquin Phoenix's character pushing Gaga against a wall and the tension is palpable.

In the comics, the Joker doesn't really reciprocate Harley Quinn's feelings and the pair are in an abusive relationship.

The pair meet at the Arkham Asylum, where Harley acts as the villain's psychotherapist.

At the end of Joker, we saw Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) inside Arkham State Hospital before he makes his daring escape.

Details about the sequel have been kept a secret for the most part, however, The Wrap reports Joker: Folie à Deux will be largely set in Arkham Asylum, so we could get to see how these two cement their relationship.

Folie à deux is a French term that means 'the shared madness of two'.

Adding more madness into the mix, the film is set to be a musical and it's a safe bet the sequel will be even more bonkers than the first film.

Joker: Folie à Deux will be released 4th October, 2024.
