Ali G could be set to make a return to the big screen, with reports claiming a second movie has already wrapped production.
Created by Sacha Baron Cohen, Ali G was first unleashed onto the world in 1998 as a character on Channel 4’s The 11 O’Clock Show.
In 2000, the character got his own show - titled Da Ali G Show - which ran for three seasons and saw him conducting real-life interviews with unsuspecting people, including political figures and celebrities.
I mean, who could forget the time he sat down with Victoria and David Beckham?

Due to its sharp satire and often shocking content, the series was a huge hit and spawned the spin-off movie Ali G Indahouse in 2002.
Since then, Baron Cohen has moved on to creating other outlandish characters, releasing a couple of Borat movies and Brüno.

However, according to Hollywood journalist Dan Sneider, it seems that Baron Cohen has recently reprised the role of Ali G for an upcoming second movie.
According to The InSneider, Baron Cohen had been spotted filming in and around Oxfordshire in July and September last year, and he also headed Stateside for the flick.
The report claims that production has already finished on the movie, but as yet there are no further details on a release date.
Rumours of an Ali G sequel have swirled for the last few years, with several reports from 2023 claiming that one was on the way.
Baron Cohen appears to prefer to film his movies in secret, having previously managed to keep things quiet during filming for Borat in 2006 and again for its 2020 sequel Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
Deadline suggests that dodging advanced publicity helps Baron Cohen to pull off some of his character’s more outlandish pranks, particularly those involving high-profile people.
Although Baron Cohen has yet to comment on the reports, when he revived Ali G for a surprise appearance at The Comedy Store in Sydney, Australia, back in 2023 he admitted that it was ‘really good’ playing the character again after so long.

He told GQ: “I just wanted to get on stage and muck around and see what Ali G would be like with a crowd. It was really good fun.”
When asked if he’d be keen to do it again, he replied: “Yes, I think I would. Because the reason I became a comedian was that I loved people laughing at my jokes.”
At the time, it had been reported that Baron Cohen had been eying an Ali G live tour, however, that never materialised and now it seems he may have decided to start working on a new movie instead.
Away from creating characters like Ali G and Borat, Baron Cohen has also tackled more serious roles, including turns in Hugo, Les Misérables, and The Trial of the Chicago 7, for which he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
Most recently, he appeared in Netflix comedy Ladies First, alongside Rosamund Pike, Richard E Grant, and Charles Dance.
