Jonah Hill confronted Jordan Belfort on whether he actually felt bad for Wolf Of Wall Street victims

Jonah Hill confronted Jordan Belfort on whether he actually felt bad for Wolf Of Wall Street victims

Jonah Hill has previously admitted to not liking his character in Wolf of Wall Street

Back in 2013 Jonah Hill's The Wolf of Wall Street character provided us with a new iconic version of the actor which many now consider to be his best role to date.

In order to create the level of authenticity needed to play Donnie Azoff, he had to speak to the man who inspired the hit film - Jordan Belfort.

While trying to get more out of his new role, Hill said he confronted the millionaire stockbroker on whether he actually felt bad for The Wolf of Wall Street victims.

The 2013 movie has become a cult classic.

As we all know, Hill starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, who portrayed the infamous life of high-roller Belfort.

Despite landing the career-changing role, Hill has spoken openly about his dislike towards his own character in the movie.

"I just didn't like the way that Donnie treated people, that was the thing I had the hardest time with," he said.

"There's a scene with a goldfish where I throw a lit cigarette at this kid and make him cry and fire him and eat his goldfish and it's really degrading.

"On the way home I would just be like, 'Oh gosh, what did I do today?' I would feel bad."

But what helped him prepare for the role was to have regular convos with Belfort.

"Leonardo and I would have dinner with him all the time and he was an open book to us," Hill explained in a compilation video by 'Focus On Film'.

"Two nights before shooting I asked Jordan, I said 'do you feel bad about what you did to these people?'.

"He just said he kind of didn't think about it at that time and if he could go back, if he could do the same thing without hurting those people, he obviously would have."

Hill said that Belfort explained to him that his character 'liked the fact he was hurting people', which helped the actor understand what he was dealing with.

Co-star Margot Robbie played the role of Naomi Lapaglia, who was Belfort's fictional second wife.

Back in 2015, Robbie revealed an embarrassing moment on set when DiCaprio's e-cigarette accidentally got stuck in her butt after a sex scene.

She previously told The Talk that she was unsure if the Titanic actor wanted her to share the story.

Too late now.

"I don’t know if he wants me telling this story, but we’d just finished this scene and Leo always carries an e-cigarette with him, like all the time," she explained.

"So he hid it under a pillow while we were shooting. Afterwards … he’s like, ‘Where is it? Where did I put it? I had it right here’.

"I was looking around with him - both still sitting in this bed - and then I went, ‘Oh, um, it’s literally, like, in my butt crack. I’m sitting on it. I am so sorry’.

"He probably threw it away. It was so embarrassing. So yeah, sex scenes are super sexy."
