The waxwork figure of Kanye West has been removed from Madame Tussauds in London amidst the fallout from his recent anti-Semitic remarks online. He did offer something of an apology recently, though, as you'll see it wasn't exactly full-hearted.

Kanye – or Ye as he is known nowadays – recently made a number of posts online about Jewish people, including one saying he was going to go ‘death con’ on them.

It’s not entirely clear what he meant there, but stuck in the context of all the other things he has said recently, it really doesn’t look good.

In the backlash from his comments, West has been dropped by Balenciaga, Adidas, and Gap, hitting him right in the wallet.

So much so that he’s moved off the Forbes billionaire list as well.

Anyway, now he’s been hit with the ignominy of having his waxwork removed from Madame Tussauds.

The popular London attraction put out a statement in which they said that every statue in their exhibition ‘earns their place’ in the celebrity gallery.

The statement went on to say that Kanye’s statue has been ‘retired’ as a result of his recent comments.

A spokesperson said: “Ye's (Kanye West's) figure has been retired from the attraction floor to our archive.

“Each profile earns their place at Madame Tussauds London and we listen to our guests and the public on who they expect to see at the attraction.”

Kanye is not exactly a stranger to controversial statements, but these recent outbursts have definitely been the most hurtful to his career.

On top of that, he has said in the past that ‘slavery is a choice’ and insisted that murdered George Floyd was killed by a fentanyl overdose, despite video footage appearing to show that he was killed by policeman Derek Chauvin.

Furthermore, Chauvin is also currently incarcerated for Floyd’s murder.

Kanye has been in real trouble - and rightly so - for his remarks.

His initial tweets about Jewish people read: “I'm a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I'm going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.

“The funny thing is I actually can't be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also ... you guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

West was then forced into something approximating an apology by Piers Morgan on his Talk TV show, although it took some coaxing out of him.

The rapper said: “I will say I'm sorry for the people that I hurt.

“I feel like I cause hurt and confusion, and I'm sorry for the families of the people that had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through and that I use my platform where you say, 'Hurt people hurt people,' and I was hurt.”
