Porn Star Kendra Lust Recalls An 18 Hour Day On Set

A porn star has lifted the lid on some industry secrets, revealing just how long actors are expected to… erm… perform for. 

Kendra Lust has spent years working in the adult entertainment industry, but is now branching out into a career in sports, hosting her own podcast about MMA and boxing. 

The 43-year-old recently opened up about what it’s really like to work in porn and just how long they spend trying to get the perfect shot.

Speaking to Renee Pacquette on her podcast The Sessions, Kendra said most companies she had worked with were very professional, but admitted that this can vary depending on who is directing and producing. 

Renee then asked if porn flicks worked in a similar way to other films, in that scenes are shot multiple times over a number of takes to which Kendra replied: “Well, it depends. It depends on the director. 

“If it’s a feature, you’re on set for 12 hours. I remember doing a feature for 18 hours, and I was, like, ‘when is this going to end?’

“Your day can go really fast, it can be six hours, it can be four hours. Anything that is shot with a level of quality and care would be at least four to six hours. I never expected getting out of a shoot in less than eight hours.”

OK, so long days are expected within the industry but just how much of that time is taken up by the actors actually partaking in sex?

“And what people want to know, actual sex is only about 30 minutes,” Kendra said.

“You guys all do this, you outperform us in your own bedrooms. We just put it out there.”

Speaking about how the male performers are able to last so long, she added: “Some are just natural men, it’s insane to think… When you have a room full of people or a director doing a POV and he’s breathing down your neck. We can fake it, they can’t.”

Meanwhile, former porn star Lisa Ann revealed the lengths some actors will go to hold back their orgasm. 

In an interview with LADbible back in 2020, she said: "It's a lot about the mind. I would always ask guys how they would stop from cumming and one of the guys loved his dog and he told me that he would just visualise his dog being hit by a car."
