Kendrick Lamar is widely regarded as not only one of the best rappers of this generation, but of all time, and although his releases have recently been few and far between, fans all over the world will be highly anticipating his return to UK soil this weekend at Glastonbury.
His staggering talent first became evident with the independent release of Overly Dedicated (2010) and Section 80 (2011), which achieved local renown.
Lamar’s real breakout success came in 2012 with the release of the all time classic good kid m.A.A.d city. This album has since achieved worldwide fame and garnered an impressive amount of mainstream success.
Kendrick’s subsequent records To Pimp a Butterfly (2015), Damn (2017) and Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers (2022) have further edged him closer to being recognised as the greatest rapper of all time.
His rare ability as a rapper who can produce wildly successful albums that also explore profound topics like religion and racism has led to him winning a staggering 12 grammys throughout his career.
In addition, the album Damn (2017) made history after being the first non classical or jazz album to be awarded the Pulitzer Prize.
So, with such a monumental career behind him so far, how much does the 35 year old earn?
Kendrick Lamar has an estimated net worth of $75 million, as of 2022. But this does not tell the full story...
The rapper had one of the highest-grossing Hip-Hop tours of all time back in 2018.
His “DAMN” tour grossed more than $40 million and his upcoming tour for his newly released album Mr Morale and The Big Steppers is likely to yield a similar sum, proving just how popular Lamar is globally.
The Compton born rapper is said to earn an impressive $18 million a year, which is over $50,000 a day!
We’re also sure that his performance at Glastonbury this year is going to bring in quite a bit as well.
