Disney is ploughing ahead with the highly anticipated sequel to the legendary Halloween film Hocus Pocus.

Reboots and sequels of old films are all the rage at the moment and it appears the 1993 family comedy is not immune.

But, when the Micky Mouse corporation revealed it would be doing a sequel, the question on everyone's lips was whether the Sanderson sisters were returning.

The original film followed a Californian teenager who moves to Salem, Massachusetts, and accidentally revives three witches who were burned at the stake in the same down in the 1600s.

The three sisters, Winnie (Bette Midler), Mary (Kathy Najimy) and Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) try to suck the youth out of children while they're out Trick or Treating in order to become immortal. Yeah - it's wild.

There hasn't been any confirmation that the three actors will be coming back, but Better Milder said she would 'absolutely' pick up her witch's broom stick if she's asked.

She told Entertainment Tonight: "I can't wait to fly!" - which sounds a hell of a lot like she's in the sequel.

When asked whether she's been brought onboard, Bette seemed a bit more coy: "Oh, yeah. We're just talking logistics."

Her on-screen sister, Sarah Jessica Parker, indicated she would be down to reprise her role as well.

Back in November, Parker shared a still from the film, which showed her character alongside on-screen sisters Winnie and Mary, over on Instagram, writing: "Halloween 2019. One for the books."

Naturally, it didn't take long for the comments to all turn to one thing - the possibility of a sequel.

One hopeful Instagrammer commented: "Any chance of a sequel?" They followed it up with a praying emoji and a fingers crossed emoji.

And, lo and behold, Parker didn't only respond, but she also wrote: "We have all said yes. Now we wait. X." Another asked if there would be a 'round two', to which the 55-year-old actor responded: "Sure!"

Last year Collider reported that Disney had hired Workaholics writer and co-producer Jen D'Angelo to write the script for Hocus Pocus 2, with Lynn Harris set to produce the film and Adam Shankman to direct.
