Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are reportedly in negotiations to step into the ring together for a boxing match.

The fighting legend looks like he's dropped rumoured plans to battle Jake's brother Logan and will instead take on the YouTuber with five bouts under his belt.

Despite the 30-year age difference between the two, it looks like it's set to happen at some point this year.

The Sun has reported the negotiations are in the 'advanced' stage and could generate up to £36 (USD$49 million).

A source close to the discussions told the British newspaper: "Mike and Jake are on board for an exhibition bout in Las Vegas.

"A verbal deal has been struck to get it on, but like all forms of sports business, now it's all about the contracts and money split.

"Mike is looking for a certain figure to get into the ring with a profit share guarantee.

"Jake obviously has that on his mind but is keen to show the world that stepping into the ring with a man once called the baddest man on the planet, takes his boxing career to the next level."

Keep in mind, Logan and Tyson appeared to be all set to go toe-to-toe this year and yet it looks like that has been shelved.

So, there is a chance that Jake and Mike's bout might not make it to the ring, however never say never with these sorts of things.

The source said it's hoped the fight will bridge 'the gap between old school boxing fans and the new generation of followers'.

Jake is yet to fight an actual boxer and Mike Tyson would be one hell of a first opponent, even if he is a little older.

When Mike was asked last year whether he'd ever step into the ring with one of the Paul brothers, he revealed that he would do it if the price was right.

"That is the fight for the money. Those are the money-making fights, those guys got 35 million people to watch.

"Yes. Hell, I would fight them. They would fight me. That would make a lot of money.

"Hundred million dollars, they do anything, they don't mind getting beat up for a hundred million dollars."

Everyone will be waiting with bated breath over whether the fight gets confirmed and then the whole world will be dying to see how Jake stands up against one of the best fighters in history.
