After waiting ages for an update on The Haunting of Bly Manor, Netflix has been kind enough to throw us a bone.

The sequel to the horrifying The Haunting of Hill House will land on the streaming service in Spring if you live in the southern hemisphere.

Posting a teaser picture to Facebook, the official page for the series wrote: "The Haunting of Bly Manor arrives this fall. Until then... look beneath the surface."

Of course, that teaser is meant for northerners, meaning we shall get to feast our eyes and ears on the new series between September to November. Only time will tell until we get a specific date.

News of the release timeframe caused fans around the world to go wild.

One wrote: "One of the most underrated shows ever. So well written and the cast was great. Can't wait for this."

Another added: "Can't wait! Haunting of Hill House is probably one of the best series I have ever watched." While a third commented: "Haunting of Hill House literally wrecked my heart. Hands down one of the BEST shows I think I've ever seen. The way you get us so invested and attached to the characters is just so intense! SO EXCITED FOR THIS."

Not only have we had the announcement that it will be coming in a matter of weeks but the creators have also shared some first look images:

Last month, Netflix explained the series was still on track for a 2020 release, which is very off-brand for this year considering how many shows and movies had to be delayed.

Filming for the second installation wrapped back in February after creator and director Mike Flanagan tweeted: "That's a wrap on The Haunting of Bly Manor. Congratulations to the cast and crew, the familiar faces and the new, and congratulations to the filmmakers who came on board to make this season their own."

In a recent discussion on CinemaBlend's ReelBlend podcast, Flanagan explained that the pandemic didn't impact the Hill House follow-up.

He said: "I don't expect it to be delayed one bit. We didn't really miss a step, believe it or not. We had already wrapped before the whole Covid shutdown hit all the productions.

"We had a couple of weeks where we had to kind of figure out how to continue post remotely. But my post team also, you know, where I've been with now, my whole career, they cracked it real fast and we've been doing everything on these virtual sessions.

"I think Netflix, they haven't announced when it's coming out. They've got their own plan. But we've been jamming through post. It's been going great. It's definitely later this year. It's not going to get kicked off into 2021, or anything. Everything's on schedule. I'm really excited for you guys to see it."

So are we.
