Tekashi 6ix9ine Believes There's 'No Difference' Between Him And Tupac Shakur

Tupac Shakur is widely regarded as one of the best rappers of all time. Some even reckon he is the greatest.

But a new name is seemingly trying to muscle onto that list and he reckons he's right up there with the legendary 2Pac.

In a wide-ranging interview with the New York Times, Tekashi 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, was asked how he compared to Tupac.

6ix9ine pleaded guilty to one felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015 and went to jail last year for conspiracy to commit murder and armed robbery. But he believes he and 'Changes' rapper share more than just a criminal history.

He replied with: "Is Tupac Shakur loved or hated? Loved! What's the difference between me and Tupac Shakur? I never caught a rape charge-ever."

NYT journalist Joe Coscarelli hit back saying that Pac 'put art into the world in which he grappled with his demons' and tried to use his rapping to help people.

"And what am I doing?" the rapper hit responded.

He started playing 2Pac's 'Troublesome '96' during the interview and told Coscarelli: "This is one of his biggest songs. What's the difference between that and 'Billy'? 'A born leader, never leave the crib without my heater!' You're telling me he gave back through his art? You're lying to me."

"I got to feed what, in 2020, is relevant. I got to feed the masses. There's no difference between me and Tupac Shakur."

There will be a hell of a lot of people who will call that assertion out.

One player in the game has certainly not been happy to see Tekashi's rise to fame and believes he shouldn't be famous.

Commenting on an Instagram post from TIDAL's chief content officer Elliott Wilson about Tekashi's song 'Gooba', Snoop Dogg wrote: "They gotta stop pushing this [rat emoji] all these media outlets making snitching cool I'm old school f**k 69 and everybody pushing his line right now all New York. Gz.

"Feel me on this and if u don't f**k u2. @meekmill If u allow sucka shit then u a sucka. Love u cuz stay sucka free."

'Gooba' broke the record for Instagram Live viewers. In the song, Tekashi defended himself for 'snitching'.
