Tom Hiddleston has indicated his desire to play the God of Mischief forever.

The English actor has delighted people all over the world ever since his Marvel TV show Loki debuted and took viewers on a while ride.

In a Q&A with fans on Tumblr, one person asked whether he would like to be in the role for the rest of his life.

He responded: "Would I? Yeah, absolutely. I'm so lucky that I've got to play Loki for this long, and you know, I feel like he's such an interesting character who's been around in human consciousness for so long.

"And he's got so many different aspects, so many different complex characteristics, that it feels like every time I play him I find out something new or we get to evolve him or take him down an avenue that we haven't gone down before."

Marvel

The TV show has been massive for audiences around the world and marks a new small screen trend now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has lost The Avengers.

WandaVision was a big gamble for the studio however it paid off and quickly became one of the most popular shows of 2021.

Loki premiered not too long after and rode WandaVision's coattails, and it's clear audiences loved every minute of it (well, nearly every minute).

The series has already been renewed for a second season despite what many people called a 'rubbish' finale.

The streaming giant confirmed the news in classic MCU fashion. The end credits of the finale came with the words: "Loki will return in season 2."

Marvel

The events of the spin-off TV series about Thor's evil brother take place after Avengers: Endgame.

A release date hasn't been set yet, but filming for the new series is scheduled to start in January 2022, reports Inverse.

According to the publication, the first season of Loki took 18 months to film, with Covid-19 disruption factored into that, so it's thought season two will take 12 months and could therefore be on our screens in January 2023.

Of course, this is all just hearsay for now and we will let you know as soon as anything is confirmed.

Alongside Tom Hiddleston, who stars as Loki, we would expect to see Sophia Di Martino reprise her role as Sylvie and Owen Wilson return as Mobius.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw could also return for season two as Ravonna Renslayer. We could also see Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Neil Ellice as Hunter D-90, Sasha Lane as Hunter C-20, and Eugene Cordero as Casey.

As for the other characters, we'll know more when the official cast is announced.
