People Are Disgusted After Watching Netflix's Sperm Donor Documentary That's Based On A True Story

Donald Cline spent 30 years secretly using his own sperm to impregnate the women who came to him for treatment in Indiana.

Viewers have been left horrified over the new Netflix sperm donor documentary Our Father.

Netflix dropped the crime documentary this week, which tells the story of Jacoba Ballard and her newfound siblings, who were all conceived through non-consensual artificial insemination at the hands of former doctor Donald Cline.

The fertility doctor who opened his clinic in 1979 in Indiana was praised by many for helping patients start a family.

However, Cline spent 30 years secretly using his own sperm to impregnate the women who came to him for treatment.

Since the documentary premiered, many viewers took to Twitter to express their reactions to the former doctor's jaw-dropping crimes.

One person wrote: “Just watched 'Our Father' on Netflix and I am so sickened that this is an actual problem. 45 KNOWN infertility specialists have used their own sperm to impregnate women without consent or knowledge.”

Another person commented: “I just finished watching Our Father documentary on Netflix and I still can’t believe how crazy this all is.

"My heart breaks for all the mothers who were violated by this narcissist. And for the siblings too whose world has been turned upside down.”

While another person wrote: “Watching Our Father on Netflix and oh, my god. This man is f**king SICK. How the hell could this happen for so long? My mind is blown.”

Cline's crimes came to light after Ballard took a DNA test and discovered she had seven half-siblings.

The documentary then sees the siblings rally together to learn more about their bizarre family tree while discovering the sickening truth about their conception.

Since uncovering Cline’s crimes, Ballad has discovered she has more than 90 siblings and counting.

The Atlantic reports that Cline, who is in his 80s now, has never been charged with rape or sexual battery through bodily waste, as Indiana only deems it a crime if it’s done in a ‘rude, insolent, or angry manner’.

Cline was also never charged with criminal deception as there is no law under the state which makes it illegal to inseminate patients with your own sperm.

Instead, the former doctor got a slap on the wrists with a US$500 fine and lost his medical license, despite retiring in 2009.

The documentary’s director Lucie Jourdan disclosed to The Guardian that Cline is still an active member of the community and shows no remorse for his actions.
