MCU Fans Think They've Discovered True Identity Of Glowing Figure In Doctor Strange Trailer

MCU Fans Think They've Discovered True Identity Of Glowing Figure In Doctor Strange Trailer

Eagle-eyed Marvel fans think we couple be seeing a new version of a popular character played by a new actor

Marvel just dropped the full trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and it's fair to say fans are going wild.

In particular, there was an explosion of theories over the identity of a mysterious glowing figure we see in the trailer, and some fans reckon they're worked out who it really is. You can watch the trailer for yourself below:

Fans have focused on a brief shot of a hero crashing through debris, surrounded by light, to fight Elizabeth's Olsen's Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.

In true Marvel fashion, it is difficult to make out who the hero is, however, some believe it could be the beloved Tony Stark from another universe.

Many fans speculated Tom Cruise would be taking on the role of Iron Man Superior - a darker version of the classic hero from the comics who became a villain.

However, others are convinced that the figure is actually a new variant of Captain Marvel, not Iron Man.

Instead of Brie Larson reprising the role, fans think Lashana Lynch's Maria Rambeau will be taking on the Captain Marvel mantel.

Lashana Lynch portrayed Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel and fans think she'll star as an alternate Maria Rambeau in the new film.

One fan wrote: "Potential confirmation of Lashana Lynch’s Maria Rambeau appearing as a Captain Marvel variant in DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS?

"Under the film’s IMDB page, we see a stunt double listed for Lashana Lynch."

Another added: "I'm decided to try to get to the bottom of this Multiverse of Madness, Monica Rambeau business.

"I'm going to guess that's Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau from a part of the Multiverse where she became Captain Marvel instead of Carol."

After Doctor Strange’s prominent role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which he cast a fateful spell that opened the doors to the multiverse, it seems another Captain Marvel is certainly within the realm of possibilities for the next film.

And, assuming you watched the latest Spider-Man, you would have witnessed not one but three Spideys battling it out with their enemies, played by OGs Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield alongside Tom Holland

Fans were also quick to spot a rather recognisable voice in the trailer, heard off screen saying ‘we should tell him the truth’.

The voice – it would seem – belongs to the instantly recognisable Professor X, portrayed by Patrick Stewart.

Other theories for the upcoming film suggest we may see Marvel’s Illuminati for the first time - a secret society working behind the scenes within the MCU that will hold Strange accountable for his forbidden multiverse spell.
