Patrick Stewart's Professor X Spotted In Latest Doctor Strange 2 Trailer

Fans have spotted something exciting in the latest trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. See what you reckon by watching the trailer below. Does that voice sound familiar to you?

As you can hear, at one stage a voice is heard off screen saying ‘we should tell him the truth’.

The voice – it would seem – belongs to the instantly recognisable Professor X, portrayed by the ever-excellent Patrick Stewart.

This is particularly exciting for Marvel fans, as Stewart has played the role across several films, notably in the X-Men trilogy, but also in films such as Logan, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and X-Men: Apocalypse.

If Charles Xavier is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s certainly exciting news, as it could open up the possibility of many other actors from the original X-Men films to return, too.

This comes after Marvel managed to wangle former Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire into the latest series during Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Fans are convinced that the voice belongs to Stewart, with one writing: “I’D KNOW THAT VOICE ANYWHERE THATS PATRICK STEWART’S PROFESSOR X”

Another person, with a much more developed theory of what seems set to come, added: “Okay okay so it LOOKS like these are Ultron drones leading Strange to the Illuminati, which is possibly made up of individuals from different universes and lead by Patrick Stewart's Professor X??

“CAUSE I KNOW WHAT I HEARD, THAT WAS PATRICK STEWART. WHY ELSE WOULD THEY HIDE HIM?”

Stewart’s potential return has been rumoured before now, as well gossip about whether James McAvoy, who played Xavier in more recent films, might return as a younger version of the Professor.

As ever, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

It’s definitely an exciting time to be a Marvel fan, though.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6 2022, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, as well as Rachel McAdams, Elizabeth Olsen, and Xochitl Gomez.

A short synopsis reads: “Dr Stephen Strange casts a forbidden spell that opens a portal to the multiverse.

“However, a threat emerges that may be too big for his team to handle.”

Interesting stuff, indeed.

Whether that threat pertains to chracters from other movies past, we'll find out in May.
