Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One: Release Date, Cast And Trailer

The seventh instalment in the series was announced in April, and will be the first in a two-part send-off to main character Ethan Hunt

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is the seventh instalment of the iconic series.

In April 2022, the film’s title was announced and it was revealed to be the first in a two-part send-off to main character Ethan Hunt.

The director is Christopher McQuarrie, a long term collaborator with Tom Cruise. The pair have worked together on projects including Valkyrie in 2008, Edge of Tomorrow in 2014 and the last three Mission: Impossible films. McQuarrie also wrote classic mystery thriller The Usual Suspects.

The series has had proven success dating back to the first film in 1996; this new addition has a superb cast and a massive $290 million budget.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One: Release Date

The film was initially scheduled to be released in July 2021, however, Covid and various production shutdowns have delayed release until 14th July 2023, in both the UK and US.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One: Cast

Tom Cruise is, of course, the star, reprising his role as Ethan Hunt. Playing Agent Hunt has earned him $290 million, the most any actor has been paid for a single role in movie history.

Death-defying stunts, all completed by Cruise himself, have become a hallmark of this film series. Cruise broke an ankle during the filming of Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which has not deterred him: he seems to have been completing more risky stunts than ever during the filming of this movie. Whilst Cruise may not look a day over 45, the fact that he is 59 and still puts himself through these stunts is testament to his commitment to filmmaking.

British comedy legend Simon Pegg also features. The star of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Star Trek returns for his fifth Mission: Impossible film. Viewers are agreed that his presence contributes to the greater good of the series.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One also includes Vanessa Kirby, who rose to fame playing Princess Margaret in The Crown, and Haley Atwell, star of the Captain America series, making her Mission: Impossible debut.
