A Man Is Suing Kanye West Because He Lied About His Album Being Exclusive To TIDAL

Surely not?

Back in February, after months and months of anticipation and stalling, Kanye released The Life Of Pablo to the public. Sort of, if you were a TIDAL subscriber.

West made this very clear on Twitter, writing "My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale... You can only get it on Tidal."

Obviously, TIDAL experienced a huge surge in subscribers as people wanted to listen to the record. But it was all a lie, at the end of last month TLOP appeared on both Spotify and Apple Music, many were pleased about it as it meant that not subscribing to TIDAL was the right decision.

Justin Baker-Rhett though, he feels cheated.

According to AP, the man is now suing both West and TIDAL on the grounds that the platform tricked people into signing up for its service with false promises of exclusivity.

"We fully support the right of artists to express themselves freely and creatively, however creative freedom is not a license to mislead the public," Baker-Rhett's lawyer explained in a statement. "We believe that we will be able to prove to a jury that Mr. West and Tidal tricked millions of people into subscribing to their services and that they will ultimately be held accountable for what they did."

Kanye and TIDAL are yet to comment on the issue.
