The pair will be one of four acts nominated for Best Original Song reported to be performing live at the Academy Awards on 24 February after the Academy made the announcement on Twitter.

The tweet received thousands of retweets and likes along with hundreds of comments.

Fans pleaded with the Academy not to cut the song short - as normally only 90 seconds of the performance is broadcast live.

One person said: "They have to sing the whole song please!!!! It's a master piece!!! I mean come on?? You can't cut this song for God sake!!!"

"You better give us more than 90 seconds omg," another said.

While a third commented: "Please broadcast the whole song for every performance, and the cinematography award!"

This will be the second live performance of the song 'Shallow' after Gaga - real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - invited Cooper on stage to finish off her Vegas Enigmas show.

Cooper joined her on stage and the pair gave a surprise rendition of the Oscar-nominated song - all while absolutely driving fans wild.

Along with the duo's talent fans were focused on their on-stage chemistry, leading to many wondering if there was any off-stage chemistry too.

One person coyly posted: "I wonder why he was in Vegas?"

Well, quite. Work? Leisure? Simply to perform a duet? We can only speculate as, sorry to burst any bubbles both Cooper and Gaga have long-term partners.

Cooper has been in a relationship with Irina Shayk since 2015 - the pair have a child together - while Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) has been with Christian Carino since 2017.

Cooper's take on A Star is Born is the third remake of the original 1937 flick, having been previously adapted for a 1954 musical starring Judy Garland and James Mason, and a 1976 rock musical with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

Gaga's performance in the film has even nabbed her two Oscar nominations, for Best Actress and Best Original Song.

Speaking to LADbible last year, Cooper said: "It was one of the great experiences artistically I've ever had, and oddly natural. I had the privilege of working with so many great artists in this film."
