Mother of Dave Grohl's 'lovechild' comes forward and reveals identity after months of secrecy

The woman claiming to be the mother of Dave Grohl's 'lovechild' has revealed her identity.

Last September, music fans were shocked when Foo Fighters frontman Grohl - who's often referred to as 'the nicest man in rock' - confirmed that he had cheated on his wife of 22 years and welcomed a daughter with another woman.

"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her," the singer wrote in the jaw-dropping statement, adding that he was doing everything he could to regain trust and forgiveness from his wife Jordyn Blum and their three daughters.

"We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together," the 56-year-old added.

Grohl didn't reveal any further details about the infant, her exact date of birth or who the child's mother was.

However, a woman named Jennifer Young has now come forward claiming to the child's mother.

Revealing her identity to Page Six and The New York Post, the 38-year-old confirmed her baby girl was born on 1 August and had been given Grohl's last name.

Young requested that the child's name not be shared publicly due to her fears over 'really angry fans'.

"Protecting her identity is really important" she said.

Not much is known about Young as she has very little online presence, however The Post has claimed that she is originally from Florida and works as a horror movie producer.

Grohl rose to fame as the drummer for grunge-rock band Nirvana during the 1990s, going on to form his own band Foo Fighters after the death of frontman Kurt Cobain in 1994.

The band has enjoyed huge international success with hits such as 'Everlong', 'Best of You' and 'All My Life' as well as headlining Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds Festival.

Grohl has been married to Blum since 2003 and the pair currently share three daughters - Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15 and Ophelia Saint, 10. The musician was previously married to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 to 1997.

He and Blum were spotted together for the first time since the infidelity announcement last week and were photographed driving around Los Angeles together. Neither Grohl nor Blum have spoken publicly about the status of their relationship since last September's announcement.
