Glastonbury viewers speechless following 'outrageous moment' during Jade's set

Former Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall took to the Woodsies Stage at Glastonbury yesterday afternoon (28 June)

Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix finally made it to Glastonbury with her slew of hit songs, but she did something on stage that left her fans with their jaws on the floor.

It has been a whirlwind for Little Mix stans after their favourite band decided to go on a hiatus in 2022 to create new and fresh music as solo artists.

JADE dropped her last name and arguably has risen to the top of the charts with her hits like ‘Angel of My Dreams’ and ‘Fantasy’, while Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock also went in their own directions with popular dance hits.

The former Mixer joined the line-up of the iconic Glasto festival after her solo career took off, and a large crowd gathered to hear what the Geordie would sing for them at Worthy Farm in Somerset on Saturday (28 June).

However, after performing her ‘Angel’ hit, she used her remaining time to showcase a lesser-known song, which left fans stunned by a NSFW moment.

The 32-year-old debuted a track called ‘Gossip’ which is part of her upcoming That's Showbiz Baby! album.

However, while she was singing with the Aussie electropop collective Confidence Man, she said the word ‘c**t’.

Viewers at home were left with their mouths flopping open like a fish out of water and immediately took to social media to give their take on the moment.

While some called the moment 'outrageous', many praised the star.

One person wrote on X: “Jade dropping the word c**t at 15:52 on a sunny summer afternoon at Glasto? Like I said, ICON!!”

Another added: “Jade dropping the word c**t was not on bingo card.”

Someone else said: “Jade said C**t live on the BBC and it's not even 4pm. Icons only.”

When her set was streamed on BBC iPlayer, the broadcaster issued a warning at the start of the performance that said: “Contains very strong language and flashing images.”

Too right it does.

But people absolutely loved Jade’s set, and eyes were soon tearing up when the singer began to get emotional after paying tribute to her fellow Little Mix bandmates.

“Firstly, shout out to Little Mix,” she said, “I can't begin to explain how grateful I am to those girls for literally changing my life and who would have thought then that we would have a Little Mix girlie up here on the Glastonbury stage. But I can't lie, it feels good doing my own songs that I've written from my heart.”

Jade has seen so much (well-deserved) praise and fame recently, and after making her presence known and calling out a big naughty word on stage, it’s safe to say that she’s probably bagged herself a lot more fans.

LADbible has reached out to Jade's representatives for comment.
