Keli Holiday has revealed just how much he leant on his partner Abbie Chatfield’s opinion when making his music, including his hit single ‘Dancing2’.
Holiday, real name Adam Hyde, spoke about his songwriting process in the premiere episode of MUSICbible, LADbible Australia’s brand new Australian music podcast that peeks inside the brains of those shaping Australian music, from up-and-coming artists to music legends and beyond.
“I try to not show her anything until, in my mind, it’s at a point where I know what I need to do to get it done,” Holiday told MUSICbible host Jackson Langford.
“Does she like that?” Host Jackson Langford asked, to which Holiday promptly responded, “No, she hates it.”

“But she’s a pretty good indicator, and she gets me,” Holiday said.
“The biggest thing I have to thank Abbie for in respect to the Keli Holiday project, and trajectory, is that she’s really taught me to trust my instincts more and more. I love her for that — I think that’s a pretty powerful thing to instil within someone and remind them constantly.”
Keli Holiday is the debut guest for the first season of MUSICbible, brought to you by Jack Daniel’s. Elsewhere in the episode, Keli Holiday opens up about how AC/DC inspired his love of Aussie music, the accusations that ‘Dancing2’ ripped off an LCD Soundsystem classic and — in our ‘Message In A Bottle’ segment — whether he prefers being in front of the microphone or behind the decks.
