A group of online researchers believe that Kurt Cobain was murdered, and did not die by suicide.
The Nirvana singer's 1994 death was ruled a suicide after he was found in his Seattle home with a shotgun wound and a note, a conclusion verified by police.
Three decades later, a group of independent online investigators called Who Killed Kurt? have claimed to be in possession of new analysis pointing at homicide, The Sun reports.

Over the past two years, the group says they've gathered expert reviews of what they claim to be leaked autopsy materials, the full firearms report, and photographs from the crime scene.
Their newly published forensics report suggests Cobain may have died from a heroin overdose before being shot, citing alleged body-movement evidence and two pages allegedly missing from the autopsy file.

The group also say they got in touch with an alleged eyewitness who says he saw Cobain forced into the property’s greenhouse by several men before hearing a gunshot.
Led by researcher Michelle Wilkins and advised by former Seattle prosecutor Mark Larson, the team presented a 181-page dossier to Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes and later delivered additional materials to the King County Medical Examiner.

They want Cobain’s manner of death changed to 'undetermined' and the case reopened.

Wilkins said: “There’s no universe where we’re leaving this alone.
“If we don’t hear from them we will reach out to the medical examiner and lead detective again and go from there.
“But right now we’re confident that they are actually looking into it.

“There are at least 80 kids, including one a year and a half ago, who we know have taken their own lives in copycat suicides.
“They’re doing it because they believe their hero Kurt Cobain did this and that needs to stop.
“This is something that still affects people today, people are still dying because of it.”
Despite the claims, the Seattle Police Department confirmed to LADbible: "This case remains closed and was determined, by the King County Medical Examiner, to be a suicide."
A spokesperson for the Seattle and King County Medical Examiner’s Office added to The Sun: “I can confirm that our Medical Examiner’s Office received the delivery you referenced.

“In the death examination for Kurt Cobain, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office worked with the local law enforcement agency, conducted a full autopsy, and followed all of its procedures in coming to the determination of the manner of death as a suicide.
“We’re not able to provide specific details about what informed our conclusion, as the autopsy records are private under state law and can only be released by the next of kin.”
LADbible Group has contacted Kurt Cobain's widow Courtney Love, Seattle Deputy Mayor, and Seattle and King County Medical Examiner’s Office for comment.
