A woman who claims she ‘died and came back to life’ has opened up about what she learned from it.

Erica Tait was 22 when she says she had a near-death experience while hiking on The Palisades in the US back in September 2015.

She had woken up with a ‘strange feeling’ in her stomach that day, but decided to just ‘brush it off’ and go ahead with a solo hike on the cliffs that run along the Hudson River.

Everything was going well until the self-described ‘daredevil’ decided she could climb down the dried up waterfalls she had previously climbed up. But she soon found herself in trouble when she ended up stuck on the rocks for 20 minutes without any sign of help.

Unable to find a way out, she slipped on a moss-covered rock and fell about 60 feet down the rock face. Erica broke her spinal cord, pelvis, arms and ribs as well as puncturing her lungs, meaning she was suffocating.

Managing to call emergency services for help in between slipping in and out of consciousness, she ended up waiting seven hours for rescue.

And during this time, she claimed to YouTube channel NDE (near death experience) Journey that she ‘separated from her physical body’.

“So I remember looking at my body and recognising that I am not that; I am not. There's something separate from my physical being,” Erica said.

“And in that, I learned that I don't die, that there actually is no death. There's something that actually survives death, and some people can call that a soul or a spirit or consciousness.”

Now working as a psychotherapist, Erica said it served as proof to her that ‘there’s actually something more than just the physical’ and she experienced a life ‘review’.

During this time she was watching herself ‘die’, she said she ‘learned a lot about our inherent oneness’.

“In this dimension that we call Earth, there's an illusion of separation,” Erica said.

“The biggest realisation was that we are all truly one being, so hurting anyone else would be like hurting yourself, and our real purpose on Earth is to remember this oneness and live with love and awareness.”

She added that ever since, her sole focus has been to ‘remember why we’re actually here’ and to: “Continue to awaken to deeper and deeper remembrances of what reality is and to help the collective do the same.”

Erica was eventually saved by an off-duty firefighter and stretchered off on army boats. Having spent time in hospital and six months in a wheelchair, she says the experience was a deep ‘spiritual awakening’.
