Macklemore has been dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour after several venues said they wouldn't let him perform after he made comments in support of Palestine.
He was meant to make an appearance in eight of the 10 remaining shows on the US leg of Sheeran's tour, which has its next date on Friday (19 September), but now he's not going to be part of the rest of it.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Messina Touring Group confirmed that some venues had said they wouldn't let Macklemore perform which meant shows wouldn't go ahead.
They said: As the concert promoter for Ed Sheeran’s U.S. Loop Tour, we have been notified by venues on the upcoming U.S. tour dates that they will not allow a concert to take place with Macklemore on the lineup, which would result in the cancellation of the tour and impact hundreds of thousands of fans.
