Seeing two massive blockbuster movies being released around the same time is a reminder of what makes the cinema so magic. While Barbie couldn’t be more different to this Christopher Nolan epic with a colossal cast that includes Robert Downey Junior, Emily Blunt and our own Cillian Murphy, both look set to be all anyone is going to be talking about this summer.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid
One of the most iconic and beloved Disney characters of all time, Ariel is finally coming back to the big screen this summer in a hotly-anticipated remake. With Halle Bailey cast in the starring role and inspired casting choices of Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Javier Bardem as King Triton, it’s definitely going to be high up on everyone’s summer watch list.

As a franchise, nothing will ever be able to recreate what the Fast & Furious movies bring to the table. Always entertaining and downright fun to watch, you just know that this next instalment will be every bit as brilliantly bonkers as fans of the series have come to expect.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
If John Williams’ iconic score doesn’t immediately start playing in your head when you remind yourself there’s a new Indy movie on the way, you should go back and watch them all again. Disney & Pixar’s Elemental
The fact this is a Pixar movie is likely enough for most to know it’s worth a watch, but it’s also worth adding that the incomparable Catherine O’Hara (Home Alone and Schitt’s Creek) is among the cast of Elemental. It’s an amazing concept for a movie, as you would expect from Pixar, as it takes place in a world where fire, land, air, and water all exist together as living beings with very relatable human emotions.
