James Acaster has made Celebrity Traitors history by becoming the first ever traitor to admit that he was a traitor at the roundtable, marking the second time someone has admitted to their role this series but the first time it was ever done intentionally.
At an intense roundtable that saw Maya Jama and King Kenny, his fellow traitors, come under heat for the very first time, Acaster shocked the whole table and everyone watching Celebrity Traitors at home by holding his hands up and admitting that they got him.
This came as they began running down the idea that one of Kenny, James, or Maya had to be involved in the murder in plain sight which killed Ross Kemp a few episodes prior.
After catching him the faithfuls still celebrated, with Leigh-Anne saying 'no one saw that coming' and Maya calling it the 'hardest experience' in the castle.

The twist appears to finally confirm what the 'bombshell revelation' revealed by a TV insider to The Sun which was said to be something that neither producers nor viewers would ever expect.
One fan posted on the The Traitors Reddit simply saying: "Oh My God! I wasn't expecting that" with 100s of comments joining in with their shock at what Acaster had done. One of the most popular simply said: "Same. Wtf. Didn't think they were allowed to do that."
The move does technically break the 'Traitors Oath' which James took, which promises to 'keep your identity and the identity of your fellow players a secret'.

Another comment said: "Might have saved Maya somewhat cause it was going to be him or her."
In the Uncloaked aftershow Nick Mohammed shared this shock, saying that he found James' admission emotional and moving.
Speaking in his exit interview after the show, Acaster said of the final roundtable: "I went in thinking I've got no heat on me whatsoever, it was a surprise, but I was glad that they caught me."
He became the second this season to say he was a traitor, albeit his was far less a moment of madness than Richard's, saying in his interview: "Sometimes you just say it straight after the Traitor's pick, shout it at the top of your lungs, roll the dice and see what happens there.

"I was really surprised by the people who still weren't convinced [that Richard was a traitor]. I think those people have got to go away and have a bit of a look at themselves, and be like, 'Why did I believe that man so much?'
"Joanne, Myha’la as well. I think she was overly empathising with Richard because she was disappointed she wasn't a Traitor."
Explaining his decision a bit more, Acaster said: "The idea of doing that got me through the whole experience because you feel as a Traitor sometimes, when you see people have real life reactions that are bigger than the game, you feel bad, and I would have to remind myself they don't have a game without you, literally, if no one's doing this stuff, they can't play, and they all want to play. So you are doing an important job here, so they all have something to do, and when they catch you, they'll be really happy and they'll like it, and it will feel good to just tell them and see that reaction."
