A seven-year-old boy was found 1,500 miles away from his home following the release of a shocking Netflix documentary.
Abdul Aziz Khan was abducted from Atlanta, Georgia, back in 2017 amid an ongoing custody battle between his father, Abdul Khan, and non-custodial mother, Rabia Khalid.
Khalid seemingly ran off with the boy, and the case was featured in Netflix's Unsolved Mysteries series in 2023 episode Abducted by a Parent.

Last month, however, came a significant breakthrough when deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported burglary at a vacant home in Colorado on 23 February, 2025
Upon arrival, they discovered two children seated in a parked car nearby.
One of these children was identified as Aziz, now aged 14.
Rabia Khalid and her husband, Elliot Blake Bourgeois, who were with the kids, were apprehended at the scene.
Aziz has now been placed in protective custody as law enforcement work to determine the appropriate next steps.

"There’s just an immense sense of pride that we were able to bring this seven-year-long mystery to a close and to start the process of reunification with Aziz and his dad, though that is going to be a process – they’re not together; that’s going to be slow," Douglas County Sheriff Darren M Weekly told the Daily Mail.
"As they pulled up on scene, they found a vehicle in the driveway.
"There were two kids in the driveway.
"They made contact with the kids and asked them what was going on.

"One of the kids, that was later identified as Aziz, said that his parents were with the realtor, or something like that.
"The kid called inside to mom with a cell phone, and the two adults came out."
The Sheriff started to ask questions when they 'felt like they were being lied to – that these people were not being straight with them, not only about why they were there but who they were'.
"The female, later identified to be Rabia, said that she never had an identification card or anything like that. Obviously, for an adult living in this country, that’s very unusual – so very suspicious," he added.

After fingerprints were confirmed, the force 'found out that she had a warrant for her arrest for kidnapping, they were subsequently arrested for kidnapping, fraud and then just a myriad of other charges – fraud, identity theft, providing false information to authorities and trespassing, as well'.
Khalid and Bourgeois now face multiple felony charges, including second-degree kidnapping, forgery, identity theft, providing false information to authorities, and trespassing.
Their bonds have been set at $1 million each.
