Fans saying they’ve 'never laughed so much' after watching cheeky Netflix film that’s 'not for prudes'

I mean, anything with Olivia Colman shouting the C-word is going to be a banger

There’s always plenty of choice for things to watch on Netflix, but let’s be honest, a lot of the biggest things are often pretty dark.

And sure, people love them, with constant choices from a true crime doc leaving viewers ‘deeply disturbed’ to a ‘super creepy’ series about real-life murders.

But one of the latest films to land on the streaming site is a little more light-hearted, as fans say they’ve ‘never laughed so much’.

However, the cheeky Netflix release is certainly ‘not for prudes’.

Based on a pretty wild true story, Wicked Little Letters hit cinemas earlier this year and has an impressive 92 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The British film stars major names, including the likes of Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley, Anjana Vasan, Hugh Skinner and Timothy Spall. The little girl from the ‘best horror of 2024', Abigail’s Alisha Weir even makes an appearance.

Set in the seaside town of Littlehampton in 1920, it follows local women who begin to receive wicked letters loaded with hilarious profanities.

Well-known for her foul mouth, Rose Gooding (Buckley) is charged with the crime, but it seems not all is as it seems.

And it’s fair to say Netflix’s age rating of 15 is well-earned, as Wicked Little Letters is absolutely loaded with crude, insulting and well, pretty filthy language.

But that’s exactly what makes it so hilarious.

One viewer took to our Netflix Bangers group on Facebook to share the recommendation with others: “If you need a good laugh and are not prudish, then I 100 percent recommend watching Wicked Little Letters. I've never laughed so much it's brilliant.”

Plenty agreed as they commented to say it’s ‘excellent and funny’ with a ‘fantastic cast’. “Hilarious from Britain’s finest,” another quipped as one wrote: “Wicked Little Letters - based on a true story, great script, great acting. Typical British drama, lots of well known faces! 100% loved it!

The new film also has a whopping 80 percent on the Tomatometer, with critics saying: “This is the type of film that Britain excels at, films with a stern point about class, gender and a time and place. Yet one not above fart jokes, slapstick humour and the utter joy of hearing Olivia Colman scream the C-word.”

Another said: “Wicked Little Letters is a riot, guaranteed to amuse viewers. Thus, it is ideal as that Friday night film that is perfectly placed as a light-hearted dramedy.”

With others agreeing: “Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley are fire in the hilarious comedy. Anjana Vasan steals the spotlight a few times with a wonderful performance in the foul-mouth comedy that will have you rolling in the aisles.”
