Netflix users may find themselves unable to watch through their accounts following a small but important change.
The streaming giant has changed how people who have Netflix accounts pay for their subscription fees.
As it stands in the United Kingdom, there are three packages with Netflix. The cheapest basic plan, with ads, costs you £4.99 a month.
There's then the standard ad-free package at £10.99 followed by the premium package at £17.99, which gives you a 4K viewing experience.

But the way you pay for whatever package you subscribe to is changing for millions.
That's after Netflix took the executive decision to stop all payments coming via Apple's App Store.
And USA Today reports that company spokesperson MoMo Zhou said that, if you pay via Apple, you wont be able to access your account after your next monthly subscription renewal.
To make sure you can regain access, you'll have to update your payment method first.

Some subscribers are fuming with the move and threatening to cancel their accounts altogether as a result.
One X user (formerly Twitter) said: "Netflix stopped working with Apple Pay and didn’t inform me. Now I’m locked out of my $9.99 a month price I had paid for years and I had to get charged $31 until I get a refund through Apple."
CNN reports that since 2018, new payments via Apple were stopped by Netflix. Its website says: "Netflix billing through Apple is no longer available for new or rejoining members.

"Some Apple-billed members in select countries may be prompted to add a new payment method to continue their subscription. Netflix Gift Cards cannot be used to restart these accounts."
Those on older subs going back to before 2018 are the ones impacted.
You can check if you pay for Netflix through Apple by visiting your account page and checking out the membership and billing section.

Apple has angered some in recent years for taking a 30% cut of in-app purchases for apps customers download form its iOS App Store.
The policy was relaxed three years ago for Netflix alongside the likes of Spotify to help them bypass the charge put on their services by Apple.
Netflix had moved to end this itself in 2018, not allowing new customers on iOS to pay for a subscription via the app. Instead, they were directed to a web browser from there-on in.
So far, this new move regarding Apple is being rolled out across the USA and Canada. UK customers are not currently impacted.
